Risk Analyst Duties: Responsible for assisting with analyzing, identifying, interpreting, prioritizing, reporting, proposing mitigation measures, and applying agreed upon approaches to contractual requirements and risk-related issues related to work pursued and performed by HDR. Implement policies and procedures designed to reduce and / or eliminate risk exposures, and assist in creating and implementing policies and procedures where applicable. Although supervised by the Sr. Business and Risk Manager, will be expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative. Will be performed in the HDR Constructors corporate headquarters, occasional travel to project sites and / or regional offices may be required. Will also be responsible for assisting the Operations Support Manager and Health & Safety Manager in the continued development, implementation, and management of quality, safety and health-related issues.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction. Management/Science, Paralegal, or related field desired. 5+ years of experience in risk management, contract administration, insurance and bonding, and/or construction management/law. Continuing Education Courses/Seminars in related practices and/or business/construction law. Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work well and communicate with insurers, sureties, and/or government entities, as well as establish effective working relationships with clients and contractors. Knowledge of risk management techniques and measures as applied to design and construction. Familiarity with safety regulations and practices associated with construction. Thorough knowledge of insurance: builder’s risk; commercial general liability; workers’ compensation and employers’ liability; comprehensive automobile liability; umbrella liability, contractor’s pollution liability, railroad protective, etc. Ability to interpret and understand legal statutes, regulations and state and local requirements associated with permitting, fees, licensing, etc. Good organizational skills. Good analytical, reading, math, and oral and written communications skills. Ability to prepare and present accurate and reliable reports containing findings and recommendations. Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (Prolog preferred). Requires basic understanding of budgeting and accounting processes and procedures.
