Senior Contract Manager The candidate will manage, negotiate, monitor and source vendor contracts/sub-contracts. Will provide interpretation of terms and conditions of contractual obligations as well as negotiate contract modifications, follow-up quotations, revisions, and terms and conditions with vendors. Contribute to company's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions. Review and administer long-term and/or blanket purchase contracts. Commercial contract issues, negotiations and/or administration of licensing agreements including renewal, new business, invoicing, credit holds, receivable issues and consolidations. Administer contracts in accordance with company and customer policies and procedures, provide interpretation and analysis of contract documents and review and evaluate customer requests for changes in or revisions of contracts that involve technical specifications, cost, or schedule impact on the company. Assist in the development of long- and short-term objectives to ensure that programs and efforts are directed toward achieving company goals. May initiate corrective action to assure objectives are met and assist in the establishment and administration of unit policies, procedures and systems. Participate in the development of goals and budgets for area of responsibility. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercise judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Gather bidding information including collaborating with field to evaluate needs and develop contract scope and terms. Send out bid requests to several vendors. Manage the vendor bid responses. Negotiate contract terms with suppliers. Analyze vendor responses and recommend best options. Work with leadership and the field to award the selected contracts. Support the field with contractual issues that may arise including contract interpretation and conflict resolution.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Procurement. Graduate degree (MBA, Paralegal certification) or CPM would be preferred. Must have 5+ years of experience in management of strategic supplier relationships and contracts. Business, cost management and quality experience preferred. Understanding of complex contractual terms and conditions desired. Strong negotiation skills are needed. Should preferably have strong understanding of outside plant construction and engineering systems and processes. Ability to communicate contract terms and performance to senior leadership is desired.
