Legal Assistant Sr Responsibilities: Provides technical and administrative support to the legal department which involves researching the law, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents. Performs legal assignments that are varied and complex in nature. Assignments may be broad, requiring originality, ingenuity, and a high degree of technical skill. Orders title searches and surveys, review for defects, draft objection letters and resolve title problems. Draft closing documents for acquisitions and divestitures including bills of sale, deeds, GAP Indemnities, FIRPTA, tax forms, etc. Completes required regulatory licensing applications and notices. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, legal articles, recorded judicial decisions, constitutions and legal codes. Prepares legal documents as directed by corporate counsel. Interacts with the Company’s management team regarding specific requests for legal advice and support. Provides general clerical support.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High School degree or GED equivalent. Bachelor degree in law or a related field preferred. Paralegal certification preferred. 5 years’ experience performing legal research and preparing legal documents for review, approval, and used by an attorney. Real estate transactional experience highly desired. Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills are imperative. Ability to effectively use on-line tools for review of statutes, and administrative regulations. Discretion, sound judgment, tact and diplomacy in all communications. Strong bias for action, well-organized, ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality. Ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with staff. Ability to interact with staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
