Case Manager Duties: Be responsible for supporting one or more Attorneys in case management of active Bankruptcy files. Reviewing or drafting pleadings, communicating with clients and managing a high volume of duties. Preparing correspondence, reviewing local rules and statutes, retrieving documents, and communication with internal and external clients. Manage bankruptcy timelines and workflow processes on loans in bankruptcy in accordance with established work rules, goals & objectives. Create and review daily and weekly reports for exceptions and discrepancies. Ensure that all appropriate actions and corresponding documentation is added to the file and client system. Oversight and responsibility of a high volume case load. Draft various legal documents and pleadings. Monitor and finalize objections: obtain confirmation hearing date, amended plans, withdrawals, loan modification status, amended proof of claims, etc. Motions for Relief from Stay: prepare orders, APOs, certified orders, notice of default, etc. Monitor and update various internal and client systems- CaseReady, FTS, LPS, Clarifire, Quandis, and others. Liaising with clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, etc. Calendaring: setting hearings, updating calendar, and hearing results. Work closely with team lead to ensure all appropriate actions are taken to expedite the files.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High School Diploma / GED; and 1+ year of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a mortgage or legal setting. Familiarity with file processing and experience working with attorneys preferred. Previous industry experience preferred. Paralegal certification preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to write and speak effectively. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
