Litigation Legal Secretary Duties: Provide support to attorneys in employment litigation matters; provide backup support to other attorneys. Prepare/revise/finalize correspondence, pleadings, documents and other clerical assignments as delegated. Maintain attorney calendars, make travel arrangements, process monthly expense reports. Run conflict checks, open new client/matter engagements, maintain electronic and paper client files, set-up billing requirements for clients. Enter attorney time in time entry system. File documents with appropriate courts, including e-filings. Schedule depositions and other client meetings, communicate with clients as necessary.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High School Degree or equivalent required; College degree preferred. 4 + Years of recent litigation experience within law firm. Typing 65+ wpm. Experience in labor and employment litigation preferred. Strong organizational and document management skills. Ability to multi-task, timely respond to deadlines and balance workload. Knowledge in Office Suite, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong sense of confidentiality and ability to exercise sound judgment. Courteous and can-do attitude. Reliability, teamwork, professionalism, ability to multi-task and attention to detail. Proficient with advanced Word functions: track changes, Table of Authorities, Table of Contents, Styles, etc. Experience with a document management system (NetDocs), billing and time entry programs a plus.
