Worker's Compensation Coordinator The candidate will serve as liaison between third party administrator, third party medical provider, and firm's associates. Will explain Worker's Compensation policies, requirements and practices through clear and concise communication. Provide summary reports of claims activity for management review. Analyze data and trends to identify concerns and countermeasure activities. Assist in the development of policies and procedures for management and prevention of claims. Provide input and direction in the adjustment of claims and investigation of injuries. Coordinate and conduct training as necessary to educate and inform associates and management of necessary requirements. Support department management in establishment of countermeasure activity, business plans, and projects to achieve targets. Gather background information on potential worker's compensation claims. File First Report of Investigation with Third Party Administrator. Follow up with associates during each critical point in the claim to explain the process and next steps. Attend daily and weekly meetings with safety, medical and third party administrator to keep abreast of latest developments with associate injuries and claims. Use/develop firm's Worker's Compensation Guidelines to assess working conditions and countermeasure options. Promote associate involvement as an integral part of the claims process. Provide outstanding customer service to the many groups who rely on this role for information, direction, and guidance.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Paralegal, Occupational Health or related field (or equivalent mix of education/experience). Should have 1-3 years of experience with Indiana's Worker's Compensation claims management in safety, paralegal, or related experience. Previous experience in large, complex manufacturing environment automotive preferred. Knowledge of Indiana Workers Compensation laws needed. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications essential.
