Prepare and review documents for accuracy, including accurate proofreading. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of USPTO procedures and requirements necessary to complete filings. Maintain client files. Offers assistance to other secretaries when needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Above average proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. An accurate minimum typing speed of 70 wpm is required. Excellent proofreading, editing, grammar, communication and organizational skills, as well as an ability to prioritize. Attention to detail is a must. Strong work ethic required. Ability to absorb training quickly and efficiently. Learns from mistakes and doesn't repeat them. Takes initiative to improve procedures. Demonstrates positive attitude towards work. Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision. Interacts well with others to gain confidence and respect of peers. Adheres to and supports the firm's standards, policies and procedures. Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, attorneys and supervisors; work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues; and complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
