Paralegal II The candidate entails providing paralegal support to Corporate Benefits staff unit in the areas of ERISA and employee benefits law. These responsibilities include work with respect to the company 401(k) Plan, Cash Balance Plan, deferred compensation plans and health and welfare plans including the short term disability and long term disability plans. Duties with respect to these plans include performing legal research; assisting in the review of various participant communication materials; participating in various internal client meetings; ; reviewing policies and procedures; assisting in drafting plan amendments and resolutions (including on M&A related matters); providing day to day ERISA and employee benefits paralegal support to HR clients on general subjects such as POAs, plan QDROs and participant level legal issues; documentation and maintenance/updating of the teams project status tracking report; and monitoring legal and regulatory developments in such areas as HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act. Should have 3+ years paralegal experience. Paralegal certificate is required by certain state laws. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong analytical, organizational and research skills are needed. Should have high level knowledge of MS Office software applications, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
