LAA - Entry Level Duties: Originates, revises and finalize documents, correspondence, memoranda, timesheets and project work as directed. Proofreads to ensure accuracy of edits, grammar, punctuation and syntax. Answers and screens telephone calls, greets clients and handles routine client matters as directed by timekeepers. Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Maintains confidentiality of all client and firm information. Operates a variety of office equipment including telephone, copier, fax machines, typewriters and calculators. Coordinates travel arrangements for timekeepers and clients. Creates, maintains and disposes of client and firm files following appropriate guidelines as directed. Enters timekeeper time into the Elite time entry system to meet established schedules. Coordinates scheduling of and assists in preparing for appointments, meetings and conferences. Handles a wide variety of administrative responsibilities requiring familiarity with accounting procedures and support services such as supplies and mail, copy room and messenger service, etc. May prepare docket entry forms for incoming and outgoing court papers and to document specific actions required for legal proceedings and personal or firm requirements. Performs a variety of functions which may include processing expense reports, preparing notebooks and exhibits. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: High school degree or equivalent; college degree preferred. 3+ years legal experience, related office experience or satisfactory completion of legal certificate course. Type approximately 55 WPM. Excellent English language skills including vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style. Effective communication skills (speaking, listening and writing) including tact and diplomacy. 1-3 years' experience with computer and system functions. Experience using iManage, Elite (or similar document management and time entry programs), Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Organizational and prioritization skills to complete work in a timely manner and effectively meet deadlines. Establishes effective working relationships with clients and others. Ability to work effectively under time constraints and pre-set deadlines in an accurate manner with consistently high production. Willingness to meet the requirements of the position, accepting a wide variety of assignments as called upon Demonstrated skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks. Demonstrated reliability and willingness to work in complex environment. Analytic ability to apply knowledge to practical applications and to foresee possible problems and effect solutions. Knowledge and skills gained through education and/or experience and demonstrated ability to use knowledge effectively in the execution of tasks.
