Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Legal and Governance department. Will handle highly confidential and sensitive materials pertaining to litigation and legal demands that involve or affect the business (directly and indirectly). Receive direction from Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Executive Assistant to CLO. Responsible for the day-to-day clerical and administrative support within assigned business area. Completes a range of routine and non-routine functions according to company guideline. Edit reports and documents as needed. Communicates with clients and vendors as needed. Maintain databases and files for litigation, agencies, law firms, and other legal matters. Create and update electronic and hard files for consumer litigation. Maintain adequate supplies for department. Maintain updated outside counsel, departmental contact list and distribution list. Process check request for department. Process vendor invoices. Manage the setup for all new vendors and outside counsel per internal processes and procedures. Provide Receptionist relief. Coordinate departmental and new hire moves with IT and facilities departments. Order / track spending / inventory of supplies. Manage all incoming and outgoing mailings. Perform other duties as assigned. High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Business / secretarial education or training is preferred. Must have 2+ years' experience in an Administrative Assistant or Clerical role in a large corporate environment. In-house corporate or law firm experience is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook is needed.
