Workplace Justice Paralegal/Advocate The candidate will have to do screening and interviewing clients, under the supervision of an attorney. Ensuring that participants and other clients complete all necessary paperwork (including forms, authorizations, releases, etc.). Helping clients obtain the necessary documents to file claims to enforce their rights, and following up with clients via phone, mail and email. Conducting in-person document review with clients, under the supervision of an attorney. Creating and maintaining physical and electronic files for clients. Managing correspondence with clients and documenting all physical and electronic correspondence with government agencies, opposing counsel, or the court for client cases. Working with an employment attorney to assist (and refer where appropriate) clients with complex cases. Data entry in internal and external data management systems, including Sales force. Research related to client cases and workplace justice issues. Data entry and report writing for grant reports. Working both in one-on-one and clinic settings. Following up on all filed administrative claims as needed, under the supervision of an attorney, including data entry into various databases.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, with fluent in Spanish and English languages, both written and spoken. Interpersonal and organizational skills of the highest caliber and efficient, with good communication skills and a team player. Must work well under pressure, be a fast learner and a people person. Must have computer experience in office programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). Applicants must be willing to periodically travel to and work in our other offices and occasionally work evenings and weekends.
