Profile

Senior Paralegal The candidate will support to attorneys and the Legal Project Manager of the Legal Department. Will support the business and legal needs. Under the direction of an attorney, resolves routine legal issues. Serves as primary contact with Corporation Service Company (CSC) and acts as administrator for the CSC online tools. Manages corporate filings through CSC and administers registered agent activities. Maintains corporate minute books, including preparation of draft resolutions and minutes and maintaining officer & director lists as well as other corporate needs. This position may also assist General Counsel with SEC filings and other corporate matters. Serves as contact person for all third party service of process (SOPs), including making initial phone calls, logging SOPs, forwarding information to others to assist with responses. Responsible for Legal Department billing, including preparing various reports for budgeting and tracking of expenses. Protects the integrity of highly confidential information; acts as liaison between department staff and associates; handles and properly directs all attorney phone calls; screens and independently resolves inquiries/issues on behalf of the Legal Department; assists with travel arrangements and itinerary for attorneys and schedules any other appointments or internal conferences. Creates and responds to correspondence and emails; maintains individual and department calendars; provides proofreading and similar clerical functions for members of the legal department, including drafting of certain correspondence; receipt and review of daily mail; and gathers and compiles information from various Company personnel for inclusion in reports required to be prepared by the Company or the Legal Department and preparation of initial drafts of such reports for review and revision by others. Additional duties as assigned from time to time by a member of the legal department which may from time to time include serving as back-up support for others in the Legal Department. Adhering to record retention policy and procedures and following an organized filing document management process for electronic and paper documents; assisting in the creation and improvement of the legal department’s policies and procedures which will improve the efficiency of the department.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 5-8 years of prior experience in a law firm or in-house counsel office. Corporate paralegal experience is preferred. Paralegal certificate is preferred. Professional, cooperative team player with initiative, a proven self-starter. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite of software programs. Experience with CSC a plus.
