Paralegal The candidate will provide support for a variety of applications and services, including notice and takedown team, responsible for responding to takedown notices relating to copyright infringement, trademark infringement, violations of privacy law, and others. Will work with other attorneys and paralegals who have overall responsibility to support the legal needs of Advertising, and Microsoft productivity applications and services. Working with program managers, attorneys, and others to analyze legal risks and implement programs relating to notice and takedown functions. Support a virtual team of program managers, paralegals and attorneys who have primary responsibility for day-to-day legal counseling on copyright issues. Providing legal advice on a broad range of topics such as intellectual property licensing, contract interpretation, and regulatory compliance. Training business groups on relevant legal issues, policies, and processes including notice and takedown. Developing programmatic approach to handle frequent legal and regulatory issues. Assisting in the development and preparation of client training materials, the development and deployment of client-facing Intranet tools, and the improvement of our processes and templates to increase the efficiency and quality of legal services. Working together with the rest of the legal team to provide comprehensive legal services to all levels of the supported businesses.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: BA/BS Degree, Paralegal Certificate or relevant work experience. Experience with intellectual property issues, in particular copyright. 5 years of relevant counseling experience in sophisticated legal environments. Basic experience in negotiating commercial agreements. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to legal issues, balancing legal risks against business interests. Strong results orientation with a dedicated client focus. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations. Ability to work independently while also being a strong collaborator. Desire to interface with a variety of personalities across diverse internal groups, teams, divisions, and cultures. Software or hardware technology company experience is a plus.
