Trademark Paralegal The candidate will assist partners and associates in all aspects of domestic and foreign trademark transactions including activities such as obtaining information from clients, background trademark searches, filing registration forms with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and responding to office actions from the USPTO, as well as other duties associated with providing paralegal support in clients’ trademark matters. Performing domestic and foreign trademark searching and clearance using Corsearch or Thomson searching databases. Preparing and e-filing US trademark applications and maintaining documents. Drafting and e-filing TTAB documents for oppositions and cancellations. Contacting clients to obtain required information and specimens for filing. Docketing review and sending reminders to clients and attorneys. Maintaining foreign trademark prosecution and oppositions/cancellations. Drafting cease and desist letters. Performing trademark due diligence prior to mergers and acquisitions and preparation of exhibits. And performing other work-related duties that may be assigned. A Bachelor’s degree is required, Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Must have 5+ years of formal paralegal experience is required. Working as a paralegal in a large firm, corporate or law firm, with prior Trademark experience is required. Strong working knowledge of US and international trademark law and practice including filings under the Madrid Protocol; searching and clearing experience; familiarity with CPI docketing database or other trademark database is essential. Experience with copyrights is a plus. Excellent writing, organizational, and prioritization skills required.
