Legal Assistant Duties: Maintain corporate records/minute books of domestic subsidiaries including corporate seals, articles of incorporation, amendments, qualifications, etc. Prepare routine housekeeping minutes including annual minutes for domestic subsidiaries in a timely manner. Maintain, update and circulate domestic corporate subsidiary charts, histories and officer/director lists. Prepare secretary certificates and/or furnish copies of corporate records as needed. Track from advance notification through receipt the logging and processing of litigation matters served on the company's registered agent; relay to Assistant General Counsel those not related to wage claims. Draft and review routine contracts under attorney supervision. Redline real estate leases. Provide real estate lease support including miscellaneous correspondence and subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements. Provide litigation support including the handling of miscellaneous discovery requests, document compilation and management of files. Handle routine field calls. Coordinate communication with other departments. Do limited legal research (either web-based electronic database or library). Assist three attorneys on special projects. Establish and update electronic databases on various legal topics and corporate management changes. Answer and relay department phone calls. Enter department Intranet submissions. Process/maintain records of fees for legal services (as approved by responsible attorney), travel expense, subscriptions, supplies, etc. Monitor and order department supplies, process equipment, phone and repair requests. Monitor fax machine, deliver messages. Maintain miscellaneous claims/litigations log and outside attorneys log. Organize, archive and destroy (with prior approval) department files, find as needed. Circulate, process and maintain records of field memos, payroll and vacation schedules, tax department reports, etc. Process document legalization requests including fees and cover memos to appropriate consulate or agency for authentication. Scan documents for department and others.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Paralegal certificate is helpful. 2-5 years administrative experience preferably in a legal environment. Research experience is helpful. Ability to analyze and process information. Ability to learn quickly and multi-task. High school degree or equivalent required.
