Paralegal The candidate will support the company. Maintain the Company's domestic and foreign patent, trademark, copyright, and domain name portfolios and manage the docketing for the same. This includes but is not limited to assisting with clearance, filing, prosecution, enforcement/defense and renewals, and preparation, review, and execution of co-existence and/or settlement agreements. Assist in the development of both registration and enforcement strategies for all of the Company's intellectual property. Assist with intellectual property licensing issues. Assist with intellectual property litigation including but issuing litigation holds, document review and production, and ESI discovery. Coordinate patent and trademark meetings and organize agendas and other meeting materials. Serve as a point of contact for outside intellectual property counsel, both domestically and internationally. Conduct legal review of all product labels, packaging and advertising/promotional materials for legal compliance including ensuring that intellectual property identification is represented appropriately. Review product claims to ensure that they can be properly substantiated. Assist with IP due diligence projects. Other duties as assigned by managing attorney.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university and/or completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred. Paralegal certification is required. Must have 2+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in Corsearch, CPI and SharePoint is preferred. Intellectual property litigation experience; Global IP portfolio experience. Working knowledge of intellectual property; Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential, as are strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation; Must be able to work independently and manage priorities and substantial workflow in a fast-paced work environment. Sound business and legal judgment and the ability to understand and respond to business needs are also necessary qualities.
