Senior Coordinator, Business Development Duties: Works under the direction of the Chief Business Development Officer, Director of Business Development and Business Development Managers to support and execute firm-wide and section-specific business development initiatives. Researches market and industry trends, as well as conducts, evaluates and analyzes competitive intelligence to identify new business opportunities and expand on existing relationships. In conjunction with the Director of Business Development, works with section leaders, and appropriate relationship attorneys to assist in the development, implementation and coordination of client team(s) and industry team(s). Works with the Director and team leaders to develop and implement business plans with defined targeted outreach strategies; monitors and reports on trends and issues impacting clients; works with team leaders to develop meeting agendas, coordinates meeting logistics, circulates meeting notes with outlined action items and provides follow-up on action items. Coordinates the proposal process, including drafting, editing and assembling proposals, pitches, requests for proposal responses (RFP’s) and other business development presentation materials and tracking results. Presents to business development manager, for approval and submission, if applicable. Performs maintenance tasks associated with marketing database which includes data management, importing contacts and tracking business development and marketing activities. Works in conjunction with the Director of Business Development to implement the firm's client assessment initiative. Works with Director of Business Development and business development managers to maintain and update on an ongoing basis firm-wide marketing target lists. Assists Director of Business Development with implementation of firm wide programs. Monitors local and national publications for articles of interest and legal trends. Serves as a liaison between Events Manager and attorneys for client seminars, attorney speaking engagements, special events, and other marketing initiatives as required; and manage the appropriate follow up to each of these initiatives. Promotes cross-office and cross-practice group communication and collaboration by interfacing regularly with others in similar roles on the Business Development and Marketing team. Coordinates check requests. Performs special projects as assigned. Also, performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications, preferred. 2-3 years’ experience in marketing or business development. Law firm experience, preferred. Demonstrated computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be detail oriented with demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to assist individuals at various levels within the Firm, both internally and externally, and react to urgent situations effectively and diplomatically. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with stringent deadlines. Ability to build excellent relationships with all customers. Ability to work in a team environment with a client service focus. Some travel may be required.
