Trademark Paralegal The candidate will assist clients in obtaining, maintaining and protecting trademark, copyright and related intellectual property rights. Should have significant responsibility for management of client trademark portfolios, ranging from small domestic portfolios to complex international portfolios. Will communicate with clients directly regarding prosecution issues, and act as a liaison between attorneys and clients. Will manage files relating to domestic and international trademark matters and manage docket to ensure all deadlines are met. Responsibilities include preparing and electronically filing US trademark applications, renewals, assignments and other prosecution documents; corresponding with foreign counsel regarding foreign trademark applications, registrations and recordals; and performing online research such as trademark clearance searches; and assisting with intellectual property due diligence. Must have 5+ years of trademark paralegal experience and preferably have 4+ years of degree program. Copyright experience is a plus. Should preferably have excellent writing skills and be conversant and comfortable with the laws that govern trademarks and be able to conduct legal research utilizing on-line tools such as the USPTO website, international databases and Saegis. Must have ability to manage and prioritize a substantial and diverse workload. Superior organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to work within a team environment, as well as independently, and exercise initiative and sound judgment is essential.
