Legal Assistant - Labor and Employment The candidate will draft discovery requests and responses. Communicate with clients regarding documents that need to move forward in litigation stage or EEOC/FCHR charges. Bates, index documents received and documents produced. Draft pleadings, answers, motions, notices. Draft initial response to EEOC charge. Westlaw/LexisNexis. D4 document database. Conduct background checks. ECF and E-Portal filings. Handle preparation and serving of Subpoenas. Familiarity with State and Federal Rules. Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits. Responsible for all deadlines.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 4-5 years of prior law firm experience. EEOC experience a plus. Litigation experience, employment law experience a plus. Must be proficient with Microsoft 2010 applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). Must have ability to organize and prioritize workload and anticipate what needs to be done. Must have outstanding written and verbal communications, ability to professionally interact with clients, attorneys and staff.
