Paralegal The candidate investigates facts, prepares documents and researches law to assist attorneys. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery and appeals for review, approval, and use by attorney. Summarizes legal documents. Organizes and indexing case files. Determines and calendar deadlines. Performs a wide variety of legal research and data compilation. Handles files pleadings with court clerk. Prepare reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints. Drafts of a variety of legal documents. Manages case documents. Prepares for mediations and trials and assist attorneys at trial. Assists attorneys in preparation for depositions. Communicates with witnesses and experts. Uses of litigation software.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university. 3+ years of litigation experience in a medium to large law firm, required; labor/employment experience preferred. Must be expertise in Microsoft Office, Lexis and Westlaw. Experience with Case Map and Relativity a plus.
