Litigation - Whistleblower - CFTC
Legal Aide Duties: Under general supervision, provides a broad range of clerical and administrative duties for corporate attorneys. Provide assistance to the department’s Proprietary Information Coordinator, and to the department’s Patent and Trademark Administrator as required. Provide overall legal administrative support to the corporate legal and contracts group. Provide assistance to the Proprietary Information Coordinator. Serve as Proprietary Information Coordinator’s back-up during times of absence. Provide assistance to the Patent and Trademark Coordinator. Responsible for maintaining the patent and trademark databases, and for monitoring workflow and the status of patent and trademark activities during any absence of the Patent and Trademark Coordinator. Responsible for typing letters, memos and reports. Archive and retrieve documents in electronic document management system (EDMS). Organizes and maintains all files relating to litigation, patent and trademark filings, and administrative matters. Maintain working knowledge of specific policies and procedures relating to proprietary information and patent and trademark administration.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High school graduate or the equivalent, plus completion of 60 college credits from an accredited institution in the subject of legal, paralegal, business or finance. 2 years as a legal administrative aide for corporate attorneys is required. Four additional years of related experience may substitute for the required education. Must be able to type 40 wpm. Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products as determined by departmental need. Requires knowledge of legal terminology and document formatting such as contracts, briefs, summonses, complaints, and motions. Ability to apply acceptable computer skills in 2+ software packages, including EDMS and SAP, over and above the Microsoft Office suite of software products is required.
