Paralegal Duties: Provide administrative and legal support to the North American Legal Team, specifically including the Director, Legal Services Greenville. Optimize the Director’s time and efforts by proactively exhibiting organization, communication and record-keeping skills. Take responsibility for other tasks and special projects as required. Develop and maintain professional relationships with corporate employees and contacts, including business partners or industry representatives. Supports Greenville, NC operations, including: Serves as point of contact for Greenville contract administration matters. Provides contract administration support to the legal department, to include conducting research and initial document reviews. Responsible for contract management, including inputting contracts into the company’s electronic database, helping manage contract compliance and coordinating execution of agreements. Assists legal department and Director of Legal Services in the preparation, formatting and editing of contracts and other documentation, including amendments, terminations, standard form agreements and correspondence with third parties. Maintains the Greenville legal filing system. Manages local statutory and GMP related filings and other duties as assigned by the Director, Legal Services. Supports North American operations, including: Responsible for the initial review and negotiation of commercial contracts. Act as key contact with the North American Sales and/or Business Management group for ongoing business matters requiring legal input. Such matters may include initial review of confidentiality agreements, amendments to existing agreements, price reviews, terminations or extensions of agreements, and similar activities. Manages legal related documents and processes through Salesforce.com, and liaise with all North American lawyers as necessary (Canada, US, PR). Assists in administration of project management relating to strategic transactions as directed by Senior Director Legal, Lead Counsel CMO NA. Takes responsibility for other tasks and special projects as required including due diligence support. Other duties as assigned by Senior Director Legal, Lead Counsel CMO NA.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree and 5+ years of previous related work experience supporting Legal Counsel and understanding of critical issues of the legal field required. Paralegal certification and pharmaceutical or manufacturing support experience strongly preferred. Previous work experience should demonstrate competency in the following required skills: Typing/keyboarding, Verbal and written communication, Telephone communication, Interpersonal and organizational skill, Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access). Multi-tasking across complex projects and ability to work on a wide range of legal matters.
