Legal Assistant/Paralegal Duties: Working closely with family law attorneys to: Open and manage case files; Prepare and file court documents and pleadings; Schedule hearings/depositions/mediations; Manage attorney calendars; Effectively communicate with the client and assist in keeping the client informed; Assist the attorney in the billing and collection of fees and costs; and, Generally assist with the proper administration of case files and legal matters.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High School Diploma (additional education preferred). Must be experienced in family law (experience in criminal law is a plus). Strong written and verbal communication skills with consistent attention to detail. Solid understanding of Microsoft Word and Outlook; basic comfort level with Excel. Ability to effectively and confidently communicate with attorneys, clients, professional staff and peers. Knowledge of PCLaw client management or similar software is a plus. Florida Notary certified is a plus. Must be able to work efficiently, effectively, and with precision. Bilingual a plus.
