Profile

IAG Paralegal Duties: Work closely with the Associates to manage electronic and hard copy documents, prepare filings, memoranda and other work product and facilitate a seamless flow of information to and from the attorneys and/or clients. Responsible for the overall case file maintenance, including indexing and filing case materials, of the US International Arbitration Group. Act as a liaison to Freshfields clients for the Partners and Associates. Assist with preparing court filings, productions and other materials. Assist Associates with filings in ICSID, NAI, and ICC arbitral institutions, productions and witness bundles. Provide up-to-date information on jurisdiction filings, rules, and procedures. Manage time sensitive requests regarding active matters. Manage hard copy and electronic case documents, including managing electronic files and preparing binders. Perform substantive cite-checking, extensive formatting and proofreading, according to style guide, of attorney written work product (client memoranda, panel submissions, ABA publications, and scholarly articles). Maintain and manage databases on Concordance and other applications as necessary. Develop expertise in use of document review tools, including the ability to prepare sets of documents to be produced and perform key-term searches over the data. Liaise with and delegate to office support staff to ensure efficiency of workflow. Perform other paralegal duties as necessary.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. 4-5 years of litigation or arbitration experience. Fluency in Spanish language required. Fluency in Portuguese a plus. Ability to create a friendly and professional rapport with attorneys, staff, and external parties. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters and respond effectively to such situations. Enthusiastic, pro-active, self-motivated, and flexible. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and efficient. Knowledge of research databases, including Lexis and Westlaw. Strong proofreading ability, excellent attention to detail. Ability to work overtime and weekends.
