Intellectual Prosecution Specialist Duties: Assist attorneys and others in rendering legal services to clients. Responsible for assisting in all procedural and substantive matters regarding foreign patents. Prepare new patent applications and other patent prosecution documents for filing at appropriate patent offices overseas, including gathering all necessary information from clients re same and monitoring and maintaining applications through issuance; Communicate with attorneys, as well as clients, local government agencies, embassies, and U.S. State Department officials regarding preparing and processing all paperwork necessary during pendency of patent applications; Communicate with foreign associates on initial filing requests and other correspondence during the prosecution of foreign applications. Prepare reports for clients regarding pending patent applications and granted patents; oversee accuracy and necessary follow-up on daily docket entries; maintain patent portfolios with supervising attorneys; Daily, accurate entry of time into Firm’s Intapp time entry system.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience a plus. 2+ years’ experience in IP prosecution. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent client service skills. Knowledge and experience with resources such as PAIR and other International IP law databases. Knowledge of and experience with docketing software such as CPI, Inprotech, PATTSY, Patricia . Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook. Must be highly organized with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle fast paced environment.
