Estate Planning Paralegal Duties: Prepares federal estate tax returns, state death tax returns, federal gift tax returns and fiduciary and individual income tax returns; Prepares probate pleadings to open decedents’ estates, and handles administrative tasks for settlement of estates and trusts; Prepares accountings for estates and trusts; Prepares stock certificates, deeds, and other property transfer documents to fund trusts; Keeps records and task lists for all aspects of trust and estates activities for clients; Performs internet research for tax forms, publications, and related matters; Develops and maintains key contacts at various courts, trust officers and other third parties to facilitate delivery of quality service to clients; Interacts extensively with clients; inspires confidence; and is capable of dealing with clients through the post-death settlement process; Prepares accountings and other court documents for estates of minors and disabled persons; Maintains firms Chicago will vault.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Paralegal degree preferred. 3+ years of experience as a paralegal with a strong background in tax and trust and estates. Must be detail-oriented with excellent writing and organizational skills.
