Title Curative Paralegal II Duties: In the Foreclosure Department, will be responsible for drafting legal documents including Affidavits and Cancellations needed to cure title defects, as well as filing title claims. Attention to detail, the capability to work at a fast pace, and the ability to multi-task are required for this position. Accurately and timely review title searches, identify any title issues, and recommend curative resolutions in accordance with investor, client, and firm guidelines. Timely and efficiently resolve identified title issues for a high volume of files in accordance with investor, client, and firm guidelines—strong ability to multitask ever-changing client demands. Efficiently manage a high volume workload with strict client and investor deadlines. Knowledgably file title claims with title insurance companies and submit required correspondence for timely resolution. Draft any documents necessary with detail and accuracy for curative resolutions, such as affidavits, deeds, cancellations, etc. Professionally correspond through phone, email, and letters with attorneys, claims counsel, underwriters, county clerks, etc… as needed for resolution and to obtain additional information for title curative files. Draft and review litigation filings and resolution to determine if it cures established issues in accordance with investor, client, and firm guidelines. Frequently and regularly update client and firm systems with pertinent information, follow-up correspondence, and any file documents. Frequently and regularly follow-up with clients, lenders, title companies, law firms, etc…for missing information and to obtain curative documents as timely as possible and at a minimum in accordance with firm guidelines/standards in a professional and courteous manner. Send documents as needed to record with all applicable forms, checks, etc…in a timely manner to prevent delay of the file’s resolution. Knowledgably and timely complete steps in multiple client systems for a high volume of files. Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of updates of applicable Georgia Title information. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all correspondence—written or verbal—with fellow colleagues, outside counsel, clients, attorneys, and others as needed in performance of daily duties. Notify foreclosure teams of any pertinent information or changes needed as related to the title. Assist with any and all other duties and special projects as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High School Diploma required. 1+ year of work experience in real estate Law. ProLaw, LPS, Vendorscape, and Clarifire experience highly preferred. Ability to manage and prioritize large caseload. Must be proficient in software tools, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. Must have strong written and verbal communications skills. Must provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Identifies and solves issues in a timely manner. Must be a team player and willing to help others in their department whenever necessary. Must be extremely organized and be able to multi-task. Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance. Takes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies what needs to be done and takes action. Demonstrates commitment to Firm’s vision, mission, and core values. Analytical and detail oriented, while working at a fast pace and capable of multi-tasking. Develops professional relationships and builds rapport with others. Overall good work ethic and willingness to adapt to change.
