Profile

Legal Assistant The candidate will maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems, manage the receipt, storage, and inventory of documents to and from filing systems. Will create new files, filing contracts and other various legal documents. Assist with scanning and upload of legal documents and contracts to corporate secretary software. Maintain accurate record keeping and assist with records retention policies and procedures. Work closely with off-site storage vendor to ensure archival of information is up to date and accurate. Manage drafted agreements and contract, renewals and amendments via the contract system and corporate secretary software. Educate internal client groups on the use of the contract system. Interface with internal client groups and outside vendors in processing of agreements. Assist attorneys and Records Manager in litigation and regulatory matters, including assisting with document production. Assist attorneys and paralegal with gathering data for transactional projects such as acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and critical supply or sales transactions. Organize transactional documents. Provides administrative support for Department business and personnel. Schedule and coordinate training, events, meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for Department personnel. Creates expense reports for Department personnel. Assist Department personnel with standard form and contract word processing, data collection and the creation of reports, requests for information and data, and company wide mail-out programs. Prepare written responses to routine enquiries. Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails. Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with others on various issues including compliance program, facility needs, and document retention. Assist paralegal and attorneys with any special projects, as necessary. High School GED or diploma required. Basic computer knowledge, familiar with MS Office tools, good word processing skills is essential. Should have 1+ year of pqe performing general office administrative duties. Excellent oral, written, and listening skills, good communicator with attention to detail is essential.
