Temp Paralegal Duties: Assist the Senior Director, Compliance Counsel for Investigations and Monitoring. Responsible for providing assistance to both the investigations and monitoring teams in connection with obtaining, organizing and reviewing relevant documentation related to the investigation process and compliance monitoring plan. Collect, organize, review and analyze relevant documentation in connection with the Company’s monitoring plan and investigations process in order to help assess potential violations of policies, procedures, or law. Conduct factual research and/or connect with appropriate stakeholders to obtain relevant documents for review in connection with an investigation or in support of the compliance monitoring effort. Develop dashboards to track progression of monitoring and investigation activities against timelines and create compliance program statistics and metrics documents. Maintain the investigations database by scanning and organizing relevant documentation. Assist with note taking in connection with investigation interviews, creation of power point presentations and graphs. Assist in compliance projects such as the development and implementation of a product promotion risk analysis mitigation assessment process, ABAC program, and formulate related communications. Perform other duties as assigned including assisting with administrative tasks.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience at a law firm or in-house. Industry certification in compliance or related industry a plus. Knowledge and understanding of the elements of an effective compliance program, as outlined in the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, preferred. Exposure to internal investigation processes and compliance monitoring, preferred. Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industries preferred. Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently on projects of high complexity with minimal supervision. Experience with the preparation of presentations, slide decks and training materials. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to analyze facts and identify issues, collect data/evidence, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and prepare reports. Ability to assess risks and identify internal control weaknesses and recommend impactful solutions. Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high quality work product. Excellent writing and editing skills, including experience with drafting and editing substantial written work product. Strong verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills as well as critical thinking skills such as analysis, judgment, problem-solving. Strong technology skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and Access. Experience with working with systems, databases and reporting tools for data analytics is preferred. Experience with Visio is a plus.
