ProfileReal Estate Paralegal The candidate would draft, review and edit leases, lease amendments, subleases, purchase and sale agreements, and documents related to a landlord consenting to a tenant subleasing/assigning and a tenant financing its fixtures; prepare and send notices of default to tenants in default under their leases; assist in the preparation, delivery and tracking of unlawful detainer complaints and related documents; assist property management personnel with ensuring that tenants are complying with their lease obligations, including maintenance records and gross sales reports; prepare license (short term lease) agreements; draft, review and edit other documentation under the supervision of in-house counsel as directed; assist in-house counsel in the closing of sales and purchases, leasing, and financing transactions, including reviewing title reports, title exceptions, surveys and closing documentation, and the preparation of exhibits; prepare document summaries and abstracts; research documents in support of personnel and other affiliated corporate departments; interact with outside counsel and title companies while performing the above activities; other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Paralegal Certificate and/or undergraduate degree in Business, Real Estate or English; 5+ years of relevant experience in the legal and/or real estate field (experience with a real estate development firm, title company, bank, law firm, real estate brokerage firm or mortgage company); extensive experience drafting, reviewing and editing real estate documents, especially leases and lease amendments; experience in 1031 exchanges a plus; excellent editing and proofreading skills; strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple concurrent projects and assignments; thorough and a very high degree of attention to details and accuracy; proven ability to work under pressure; excellent written and verbal communication skills; advanced MS Word skills and MS Excel proficiency; ability to maintain confidentiality is required; honesty and professional integrity; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to meet deadlines and work with all levels of personnel; must be a true team player and comfortable in an environment where change occurs frequently; willing to work the number of hours needed to get the assigned tasks completed in a timely manner
