IP Legal Assistant Duties: Prepare shell responses for office actions. Maintain and update files, including file openings, file applications, responses, etc. with USPTO. Responsible for preparing and maintain IDS and charts as needed. Review issued patent for errors, determine expiration date of patent, prepare certificate of correction, if necessary. Responsible for preparing, coordinating and circulating reporting letters to clients Responsible for uploading documents to Anaqua and Zorro. Willing to train. Responsible for billing 400 hours/year in Carpe Diem. Effectively set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects. Annually complete eight hours of continued technical education through the Firm’s training department. Responsible for reviewing PreBills. Responsible for scheduling and coordinating travel arrangements (Attorney travel). Responsible for overseeing invoice payments/expenses/reimbursements (Chrome River). Responsible for preparing engagement letters. Coordinate tracking of CLE for attorneys.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: 1-5 years related experience. Qualifications: Exceptional typing skills; ability to draft and/or edit documents accurately and quickly. Comprehensive knowledge of specific Intellectual Property department guidelines. Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task (i.e. calendaring, meeting coordination, timesheet entries, travel plans, file openings). Proficient in LegalKey, CompliGuard Flow, Carpe Diem, Document Management system, and Microsoft programs Word, Visio, Excel and Outlook.
