Trademark Specialist The candidate will review docket for deadlines and manage assignments in support of clients' global trademark portfolios. Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications electronically, including subsequent filings through to registration. Correspond with foreign associates and clients on trademark matters. Prepare and file powers of attorney and letters of instruction. Responsible for preparing and filing relevant documents related to prosecution and/or maintenance of U.S. and foreign trademarks. Assist attorneys with trademark filing strategy and due diligence. Comprehend chain of title in U.S. trademarks and ability to perfect same. Draft trademark status reports upon request of client. Communicate with foreign associates, including foreign filing instruction letters, and obtain and send copies of registration certificates or other evidence requested by foreign associates. Run basic searches requested by attorneys or clients. Assist attorneys in trademark opposition and cancellation actions before the TTAB. 5+ years of trademark specialist or paralegal experience required. Solid: understanding of U.S. and foreign trademark filings and prosecution procedures; understanding of Trademark rules of practice (37 CFR) and some familiarity with trademark clearance searching, copyrights, domain name registrations and TTAB proceedings required. Familiarity with USPTO Trademark systems including TEAS, the Assignment Branch and the TTAB required. Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
