Profile

Paralegal Duties: Reports to the Senior Manager of Properties and plays an important role within the AED team. Performs a variety of specialized paralegal duties with an emphasis on ground leases, concession agreements, general aviation and commercial real estate leases, and other legal documents in a fast-paced office environment. Work involves a high degree of integrity, attention to detail, an understanding of specialized technical content and complexity, and the ability to work independently. Draft, format and prepare legal documents according to Authority and AED requirements including lease documents, licenses, permits, agreements, Requests for Proposals, Bids and Qualifications, and a multitude of different airport tenant, vendor, government and other legal documents from information derived from term sheets, Letters of Interest, Memoranda of Understanding, etc. using the appropriate form of contract. Review and proofread all correspondence and legal documents for grammar, punctuation, pagination, tables of content, continuity of defined terms, formatting, and references. Maintain current standard terms and conditions for all types of legal documents. Create and maintain automated forms of agreements with hyperlinks and automated numbering and tables of content. Create and maintain standard contract templates, whenever possible, for all types of legal documents and land/building uses. Maintain up-to-date legal guidance documents and advise AED staff of any changes. Provide up-to-date FAA and U.S. Department of Transportation rules and directives as they apply to Authority's Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program. Continually update legal knowledge by attending relevant classes, webinars and participating in other educational opportunities.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Successful completion of an approved paralegal certificate or degree program; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training. 5 years of progressively responsible paralegal experience; experience in the public sector, airports, or the field of commercial real estate preferred. Excellent business communication skills including proofreading, grammar and punctuation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines. A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
