Operations Analyst - Legal/Compliance Duties: Support the Head of Operations in the area of investment documentation and compliance and could include support for other operational needs, such as monthly performance analysis and reporting. Review of legal documentation for private funds (private equity and hedge funds) or separate management agreements. Performing analysis of terms and structure of fund investments or managed accounts and assess versus standard market practice. Documenting and presenting conclusions for the Investment Team. Preparing for execution of all documentation and maintain executed database and files. Compliance management for regulatory or government reporting. Assisting with the review and preparation of securities account documentation to include ISDA related agreements. Liaising with the Investment Office’s outside counsel and coordinating legal process with the Investment Team within the Office. Assisting with third party investment manager operational due diligence. Supporting requests from the University for ad hoc financial reporting or analysis. Supporting the overall mission of Brown University. Assist with monthly performance analysis and reporting. Create and support performance or position tracking models on a monthly basis. Support data input and maintenance of portfolio systems. General support for operational aspects of the endowment portfolio.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Strong academic background with BA/BS Degree. 5+ years of legal or paralegal experience related to private funds and vehicles. Experience related to securities regulation or account documentation preferred. Previous accounting or operational-oriented experience in asset management preferred. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. The ability to write clearly and oncisely is a key requirement. Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills. Team player, strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently. Superior work ethic with high attention to detail. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
