Paralegal Assistant Duties: Work directly with nationally recognized Commercial Litigation group. Organize documents and compile data as directed by lawyers and paralegals. Prepare documents for photocopying/scanning and interface with vendors. Quality check copies against originals and conform copies. Maintain document inventories and indices. Prepare deposition and trial exhibits. Assemble and organize documents into binders. Perform computer database input and retrieval. Search and/or retrieve hard copy documents containing information requested by lawyer or paralegal. Search and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites. Maintain departmental and case files, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties. Perform research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed. Organize documents or reports for in-house and/or outside distribution. Assist with the preparation of statistical and comparative analyses. Code documents, proof and maintain quality control of document coding sheets. Create and maintain document tracking systems.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A high school diploma and 3+ years of related experience in an administrative support role, or equivalent. Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Word, Outlook and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication stills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to type 50 wpm with accuracy. Ability to work in fast-paced environment, handle multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist the team in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules. Demonstrated leadership skills sufficient to coordinate and oversee a variety of projects. Must be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the Firm’s attendance expectations. PREFERRED: Paralegal Assistant or legal support experience strongly preferred. AA or BA degree preferred. Paralegal Certificate a plus. Must be able to work independently as well as establish effective working relationships within a team environment. Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail.
