Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for docketing/calendaring important court dates, reviews and deadlines ascertained from a review of court pleadings received from e-service or mail. Will also be responsible for: setting hearings/mediations/trials; contacting opposing counsel and court personnel to coordinate setting hearings; preparing and e-filing court pleadings; preparing and submitting court orders to judicial personnel; assisting with the reviewing of legal documents; investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes; and record and store client information.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 2+ years of prior experience as a paralegal/legal secretary. Should have prior experience: setting court hearings and contacting office of opposing counsel and court personnel; e-filing pleadings; preparing notices of hearing and other court pleadings; calendaring court hearings and deadlines; and preparing and responding to discovery. Familiarity with legal research is needed. A good knowledge of the statutory deadlines in Florida Rules of Civil Procedure is necessary.
