Paralegal - Commercial Legal The candidate will provide support primarily to the anticorruption team, which focuses on avoiding bribery in the company’s international operations and activities within the United States related to the pricing, reimbursement, and patient assistance programs. Provide timely and appropriate escalation of issues to the attorneys within the group, provide assistance in the audits conducted across the world with training and preparation materials, assist in the continuing development and revision of standard form agreements and implementation of processes and procedures for review and approval of commercial agreements, and train internal clients on contract forms and procedures. Perform due diligence-related searches of relevant databases and information available on the Internet and follow up with attorney team. Support centralized record-keeping and archival of due diligence activities and analyses. Organize materials and create binders for both teams (such as creating binder for third-party and affiliate audits; update key master agreements and amendments). Help support creation and updating of training materials and enforcement update materials. Update and create PowerPoint presentations. Collaborate with manager and internal business clients to ensure various programs meet compliance standards. Provide paralegal support for a range of activities associated with implementing patient assistance and support programs and product launch initiatives. Learn anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws, healthcare fraud and abuse risks and statutory and regulatory drug price reporting obligations when interacting and/or contracting with pharmacies, healthcare professionals, commercial, state and federal payers, managed care organizations and pharmacy benefit managers. Appropriately manage a heavy workflow, ability to prioritize effectively, and delivering results within agreed timelines. Advance a positive spirit of partnership and collaboration with internal clients and internal legal colleagues. Demonstrate an ability to think creatively and devise solutions to challenging problems. Exercise mature and reliable judgment while enjoying the company's enthusiastic, informal and fast-paced environment.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of providing support to a legal department at a law firm or bio-pharmaceutical, health care or technology company and/or government (FDA, CMS or OIG) experience demonstrating growth and ability to succeed. Must have experience with organizing and supporting legal teams, updating PowerPoint presentations. Preferred: familiarity with (i) health care compliance, and (ii) Excel, PowerPoint and other computer programs. Good decision-making skills and good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
