Entry Level Paralegal: State & Local Tax Responsibilities: Develop and apply basic knowledge and procedures to complete assigned projects and tasks; develop proficiency in technology relevant to the position. Follow established procedures and clearly-defined instructions to complete assignments; develop skills in identifying resources to increase efficiency and ensure highest quality work product. Develop and apply organizational skills to prepare work product and ensure efficient workflow within and among teams and departments. Identify issues and consult with others to resolve problems. Identify resources to increase efficiency in preparing work product. Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations; prepare and release timenotes on a daily basis; prepare and submit timecards on a weekly basis. SALT Responsibilities Provide organizational and substantive support in all phases of a case from inception through trial or settlement. Assist with management and maintenance of SALT docket. Prepare pro hac vice admission motions and powers of attorney; maintain department chart of pro hac admissions. Consult with firm s eDiscovery Resource Management team to manage document databases and coordinate electronic discovery proceedings. Assist with the preparation of administrative filings, including public records requests, claims for refund, requests for abeyance, and other local tax procedures; confirm adherence to local rules. Assist with the preparation of court filings, including cite and fact checking, confirming Bluebook citation, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices. Conduct factual and legal research; assist with the preparation of tax research memoranda; examine public records; monitor legislative and administrative proceedings. Prepare and maintain tax calculators, schedules, and claim trackers. Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including preparation of witness files, management of exhibits, assisting with set-up of trial space, collaborating with local counsel, and attending trial and settlement conferences.

Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree from a top school. GPA of 3.50 or higher required.
