Bankruptcy Paralegal The candidate will join the bankruptcy and restructuring group. Manage assigned cases and related tasks and projects. Perform full range of paralegal tasks from case inception through discovery process, trial, post-trial proceedings and case closure. Assist attorneys in ensuring that all documentation associated with a case, such as correspondence, pleadings, document productions, research files, e-mails, etc., is filed. Assist with the organization of case rooms to ensure that all materials are identified with client matter number and other key information. Monitor court docket sheets for assigned cases; assist in factual development of bankruptcy cases. Prepare and assist with filing notices and proofs of claim; assist in preparation of fee applications. Review and summarize bankruptcy records. Assist in responding to discovery requests; attend to document production; perform document review and organization; coordinate document copying, imaging, numbering or indexing; coordinate/reconcile documents produced with document management systems; analyze and summarize documents. Prepare deposition files; select and assemble potential deposition exhibits; assist in preparation of direct and cross-examination as assigned; attend and take notes at depositions when assigned; summarize transcripts. Assist with preparation and filing of briefs, including cite checking, Bluebooking and e-filing. Provide trial support. Prepare and file security documentation, including deeds of trust and UCC financing statements. Review and summarize collateral and security documentation. Remain current in industry trends in Bankruptcy/Restructuring and the legal profession. Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position. A BA/BS degree is required.
