Intellectual Property Legal Assistant The candidate assists attorneys in the IP group with the preparation, review, summary and analysis of intellectual property-related documents. Consistently meeting the Firm’s standard of excellence in supporting attorney teams; delivering superior service to the Firm’s clients; assisting with the training and mentoring of incoming Corporate Legal Assistants and Paralegals; conducting, researching, reviewing and analyzing various public record searches including various third party, governmental, company and other public websites and databases (e.g. USPTO, EPO, EUIPO, Thomson Reuters, Corsearch, etc.) with respect to certain types of IP registrations and applications such as patents, trademarks, copyrights and domain names; creating and maintaining various checklists, schedules, organizational charts, spreadsheets and other documents; ensuring accuracy of IP due diligence data in all stages of various IP transactions by comparing and contrasting search results and other disclosed IP documents; preparing written summaries of IP findings with respect to the comparison of IP searches and disclosed IP documents; reviewing virtual data rooms and other sources for relevant documents; assembling IP-specific binders; compiling and maintaining a database of IP precedents; manipulating and organizing large sets of data; assisting at closings and with post-closing matters; assisting other groups when IP workload permits; and performing other duties, as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 2+ years of legal assistant experience. Should have Bachelor’s degree. Must have advanced knowledge of desktop applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat as well as various third-party databases including LexisNexis, Westlaw, Thompson Innovation, Corsearch, SERION, USPTO, EPO, EUIPO and EDGAR.
