Business Development Coordinator This candidate will serve as a valuable resource to the firmwide transactional business development team by supporting the day-to-day functions of the growing New York office. Responsibilities include creating/writing, maintaining and refining marketing materials, including pitches, RFPs and substantive presentations; conducting market research, practice area descriptions and attorney biography maintenance, CRM data entry/maintenance, industry/client trend tracking, and general business development support. In addition, he/she will be responsible for assisting with the research, collection, and maintenance of historical and current M&A/private equity matter information for the Firm’s corporate matter inventory database.. Contributing and assisting in the development and ongoing maintenance of a Firmwide M&A/Private Equity database. Refining, organizing, curating, maintaining and growing the firm’s suite of corporate pitch components within and outside of the database environment, including attorney biographies, practice descriptions and experience lists. Coordinating and executing the pitch production process from the point of opportunity through to completion. Incorporating historic responses and existing core materials related to the Firm’s practice areas and the specific industries and sectors we serve into proposals/pitches where appropriate. Writing, editing and maintaining effective, compelling, and consistent written materials for use in the firm’s marketing and business development initiatives. Managing and reviewing market, industry and client research for pitch preparation. Maintain contacts and activities in InterAction (CRM) and the Firm’s pitch log, and create and run reports in connection with new business opportunities. Maintain and update NY attorney résumés as needed/directed. Handle other requests or projects on an as needed basis. Provide support to other members of the department as necessary.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: A four-year degree is required. 2+ years professional experience and a background in M&A/private equity are preferred. Law firm, corporate finance, research analyst and investment banking experience are a plus. Must be comfortable in an internal database environment. Understand the elements of an M&A transaction and be able to distinguish among various types of transactions as well as have the ability to distill complex deal information into a succinct, digestible format. Must have a solid command of a number of different software applications to produce high-end, professional work product, including the Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel are required) and experience with various market intelligence platforms, including BoardEx, Rel Sci, Capital IQ, ThomsonOne, Preqin, Manzama, The Deal Pipeline, Pitchbook and Corporate Affiliations. Experience with InterAction or an equivalent Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system is a plus. Outstanding proofreading and communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
