Real Estate Transactional Paralegal The candidate will attend to due diligence, pre-closing, closing and post-closing matters. Will communicate effectively with firm attorneys, clients and third parties regarding deal-level issues and status and prepare status charts for open deal issues. Review and abstract title, survey and leases. Manage corporate/organizational formations, qualifications, maintenance, and dissolutions. Manage data rooms and other document storage sites. Organize diligence materials and prepare diligence binders (hard copy and CD/DVDs). Work with deal team to monitor deal flow. Draft/review/finalize legal agreements and documentation. Oversee execution of/coordinate countersignatures of legal documents. Manage closing rooms (in the case of in-person closings). Organize closing documents and prepare closing sets (hard copy and CD/DVDs). Coordinate state/county filings and recordings of legal documents and track receipt of same. Organize and maintain department files (hard copy files/electronic files within the firm’s computer information system). Work to further develop the Real Estate SharePoint Database Site and work within the site to upload and house department files. Train/transition new-hires within the real estate department on department assignments and firm protocol. Respond to daily email and telephone communications.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a Bachelor degree. 3-5 years of real estate transactional work experience required. Must have strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, be accountable and work well under pressure. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Strong editing and proofreading skills is required. Must be able to work on a team and independently.
