Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate assists the in all litigation matters and is responsible for primary legal review of company-wide contracts. Assists in all collections and employment litigation, as well as other litigation matters as they arise and as necessary. On collections matters, performs preliminary review of case files, prepares demand letters, acts as primary point of contact with residents/family members, acts as primary point of contact with internal clients, prepares liens, promissory notes, complaints, motions for attachment, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents as necessary, all under the guidance and supervision of the Assistant General Counsel. Handles all filings and scheduling with clerks' offices. On employment matters, assists Assistant General Counsel with investigating complaints and interviewing internal clients, performs legal research, drafts discovery requests, responds to discovery requests, and attends hearings with Assistant General Counsel as necessary, all under the guidance and supervision of the Assistant General Counsel. Handles all filings and scheduling with MCAD and clerks' offices. Reviews company-wide contracts to ensure Company's needs are adequately protected. Assists with other legal matters as needed. Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job. Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care. Actively supports Wingate's commitment to providing "5 Star" service on all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct. Performs additional duties as assigned.
