Contract Specialist The candidate will assist in the development, negotiation and execution of third party nondisclosure agreements, distributor and commissioned sales representative agreements, terms and conditions, R&D agreements, and other product or project specific agreements. Will review RFQ's/RFP's and collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Supply, Engineering, Finance, IT, and Project Management to identify and mitigate risks and maximize opportunities during the proposal and contract negotiation process. Negotiate commercial terms and conditions of contract with third parties in compliance with internal delegation of authority and contract management guidelines. Engage in contract change order preparation, review and approval process. Assist in vendor pre-qualification and subcontract agreement process. Coordinate the issuance of insurance certificates, bonds, and letters of credit to satisfy contractual requirements. Create, process, organize and ensure all supporting documentation is contained in the contract files. Participate in the development and implementation of procedures for contract management and administration as well as tools to enhance the process, work flow, throughput, document retention, and sharing of best practices. Perform contractual and administrative requirements that are complex and varied in nature, usually requiring some originality, ingenuity, and degree of technical skill. Establish priorities and work concurrently on a variety of projects. Perform assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines and with minimal supervision.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or certification in Paralegal Studies and strong legal contracts experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Must have 3-5 years of prior contracts experience, preferably in a large, multinational manufacturing or construction environment. Experience negotiation and drafting contract, resolving conflicts, coordination, and closing skills required. Proficiency in MS Office suite, SharePoint, Access and/or other enterprise document and file management tools needed. Experience with government contracting is favorable.
