Legal Administrative Assistant Duties: Providing comprehensive administrative and practice support. Preparing correspondence including legal documents, forms, presentations and the like using advanced knowledge and skills with word processing related and other software programs. Interacting professionally with members of other departments and varied external contacts, and assisting others in the practice when needed. Scheduling appointments, making travel and/or meeting arrangements, and maintaining business calendars. Assisting with partner billing, including preparing bills for distribution, maintaining billing records, and recording attorney time. Court filing support including e-filing.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 5 years’ experience supporting fast paced commercial litigation practices. High level of communication skills requiring social sensitivity in order to communicate effectively with staff and management within and outside the department and external contacts, including clients. Strong problem solving skills; willingness to work and think with independence, handle confidential information with discretion, and accept responsibility for producing work that is consistently complete, timely, effective and accurate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook. Typing speed of 55 wpm. Ability to coordinate and manage routine administrative work, such as scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, preparing expense reimbursements, etc.. Strong proofreading skills and overall continual attention to detail. Experience using WorkSite/FileSite or other document management systems.
