Paralegal Duties: Prepares and drafts correspondence, memos and legal documents according to Firm requirements using word processing and document management systems. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Prepares legal documents such as contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorneys in the Firm. Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail. Prepares documents and maintains document files. Required to meet at least 1,500 chargeable hours per year.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience. Paralegal certificate, related experience, or pre-law degree preferred. 2+ years of experience working as a paralegal preferred. Strong organization, writing, and communication skills. Must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic. Experience working with clients and attorneys preferred. Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under specific timelines. Must be able to perform all essential duties.
