ProfileParalegal I/Legal Assistant The candidate's responsibilities: Responsible for assuring that all legal documents, agreements, disclosures, etc. are complete, accurate, up-to-date, and processed in a timely basis within SOC’s policies and procedures as well as within court appointed deadlines. Ensure that the previously mentioned are properly organized in reference binders, files, and computer databases, and are processed with exemplary follow up and diligence. Perform various other legal tasks as needed and assigned including: acting as liaison between the bankruptcy attorney and central office personnel, field personnel, and agencies in accumulating, analyzing, and summarizing data and other facts, drafting correspondence and analyzing statutes, regulations and cases for answers to specific questions posed by attorneys and preparing memoranda setting forth the results, specifically as it pertains to bankruptcies. Recommend potential losses to portfolio managers on a weekly basis. Assist with UCC terminations, continuations, etc.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Paralegal certificate or willingness to work toward certificate. Should have Associate or Bachelors Degree plus 2-4 years of experience in a financial services environment preferred. Knowledge of bankruptcy law is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills and knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel.
