Paralegal The candidate will assist in drafting legal documents including, but not limited to, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to opposing counsel and to the court. Obtain, review, organize and analyze medical records. As necessary and appropriate, arrange medical examinations for clients or opposing parties and interview doctors, nurses, and hospital personnel involved in patient care. Conduct computerized medical, scientific, and technical literature research. Analyze materials and prepare synopsis. Maintain litigation docket and calendar, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines. Assist attorneys in preparation for meetings, hearings, depositions and trials. Prepare witness and matter materials for trial preparation. Maintain, organize, and track files including documents involving contact with insurance carrier(s), client, health care provider(s), employer(s) and state/local agencies in an efficient and effective manner. Interact with clients, respond to client inquires, keep client updated on progress of case. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with firm policies. File court documents. Paralegal certificate preferred. 2-3 years of paralegal experience required. Experience with document control and e-filing with state and federal courts required. Ability: to handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines; to perform legal research, in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles; to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy required. Exceptional organization, writing and communication skills required.
