Paralegal Duties: Processing checks and assisting in reconciling accounts. Daily case management, scheduling motions and other trial related matters. Reviewing and assembling documents to be used at deposition. Abstracting deposition transcripts. Preparing witness files. Reviewing, organizing, indexing and summarizing documents. Organizing and analyzing client files. Arranging for and assisting with expert witnesses. Drafting and arranging for the service and follow up of both State and Federal Court Complaints, Motions, Pleadings, etc. Cite checking and shepardizing. Performing legal and non-legal research using Lexis, Westlaw, and the Internet. Assisting attorneys in preparation of a case for trial.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Associates degree in paralegal studies or 3-5 years' experience in law of financial accounting or bookkeeping. Experience with civil litigation matters filed in State and Federal Court. Experience in legal researching databases such as Westlaw and LexisNexis as well as experience in drafting legal documents such as complaints and motions involved in the practice of civil litigation. Experience with Word, Time Matters, Excel and other litigation software products (fully computer literate). Knowledge with the Florida Court System and the Local Rules as well as experience filing in the Florida and Federal Court System. Strong and extremely meticulous organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Being familiar with the rules of procedures of Florida State and Federal Courts; including, the requirements for the filing of documents both in person and electronically.
