Litigation (eDiscovery) Paralegal Duties: Assists and supports the eDiscovery aspects of a busy products liability/mass tort practice. Works closely with legal team on developing and maintaining a strategy for effective and defensible handling of data from collection through final review and production. Coordinates the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex eDiscovery databases, primarily in Relativity. Search and analyzes data for legal team, reports on metrics, employs Early Case Assessment and/or Advanced Analytics when appropriate, and coordinates the loading of additional data for legal team review. Reviews and codes documents per attorney instruction. Trains attorneys and paralegals when needed in the effective use of litigation support software. Manages all document productions needed by group, including all pre- and post-production activities. Maintains frequent and effective communication with all members of the legal team as well as third party eDiscovery vendors. Serves as primary point of contact with third-party eDiscovery vendors: provides clear project specifications, oversees execution of project, and provides regular feedback. Tracks case-related activity utilizing case management tools and completion of all relevant electronic tracking and similar forms. Accurately observes all standard eDiscovery conventions and Best Practices, such as deduplication, analytics, and other methods of culling data. Maintains tracking logs for data received and loaded; keeps inventory of data media received for each project; maintains proper Chain of Custody for all original media. Communicates clearly and concisely with legal team and provides timely status updates. Records on a daily basis all time worked.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications : The candidate should have 5+ years of work experience as a Litigation Paralegal, Litigation Support Analyst or Litigation Support Project Manager. Experience working on vendor side and/or in large law firm environment is preferred. Superlative Relativity skills including (Relativity Certified Administrator's license preferred). Expert experience managing all phases of the eDiscovery life-cycle from data preservation and collection, through document production and presentation. Previous experience with case management tools (CaseMap, TimeMap, TextMap, Allegory, etc.) and document review repositories (Relativity, Concordance, Summation, Catalyst, etc.). Experience managing expectations of legal team throughout eDiscovery life-cycle. Prior experience working on mass-tort cases is preferred.
